I embarked on a caretaking path, like many, out of need. A family member needed some help, and there was a lot to manage. I found things that I thought should have been simple, weren’t. Being in tech, I assumed there would be a tool that would help manage things. There wasn’t.
The Spark That Ignited Family Member Care
It’s what led me to create Family Member Care: A passion project fueled by a simple but mighty goal - to help manage my mum’s medical needs. Well, and now yours! Or any other family member.
My own experience of not only helping to manage the care of a family member but also keeping others in the loop was not pleasant or easy. As I faced the complexities of this, I realised how fragmented and overwhelming the process could be.
I tried keeping notes on my phone, but searching and retrieving those became a serious headache. And don't even get me started on sharing information between my siblings; we had important bits of information spread all over the place!
Keeping track of diagnoses, medications, allergies (some that are anaphylactic), appointments, contacts (for doctors, specialists, care workers - they add up), and test results was like trying to solve a giant puzzle with scattered pieces.
So, we created something more than just a fancy tool; Family Member Care is a virtual support system that brings everyone together.
